The two-component, polymer-modified bitumen coating Rasco 2K BitumenCoating poly 157 can be used for external, strip-type sealing of working joints between concrete construction elements with high resistance to water penetration, as specified in the Water Impermeability Guidelines (in accordance with Building Rules List A, Part 2, Pos. 1.4) in the following cases:
Ground moisture and water under hydrostatic pressure
Periodic accumulating seepage water and water under hydrostatic pressure up to a maximum water pressure of 0.3 bar (3.0 m immersion depth)
The seal complies with the requirements of Usage Class A for Loading Classes 1 and 2 as specified in the DAfStb-Guidelines "Waterproof Concrete Structures", November 2003 Edition.
In comparison with many conventional bitumen coatings, which are only capable of sealing working joints up to a maximum permissible width of 0.25 mm, Rasco 2K BitumenCoating poly 157 even resists external water under hydrostatic pressure in seals between prefabricated or in-situ elements where joints can be up to 1.0 mm wide with no sign of leakage. This is confirmed by the general construction authority test certificate P-DD 4222/01/2007F, issued by Bautest Dresden GmbH, a construction-authority-approved test, inspection and certification laboratory.
